Wednesday, June 6 - Just a bunch of uncategorized observations as we drove along the Gulf Coast.
You may remember an earlier post from last week, Truck Stop Entertainment, featuring the weird scale/lottery/"personal message" machine in the rest rooms at the Love's truck stop. It seems as though it's a regular feature. This time we both paid 25 cents for our fortunes. Sandy's was: "Honest is your best virtue." Mine is below.
Strangest Chiropractor sign... In Panama City.
Seaside, Florida. Nothing strange or out of place here. Everything is picture perfect.
Double red flags at the beach in Destin, Florida. Don't go in the water!
Despite the double red flags, Sandy proceeds into the Gulf. With purse, of course. Just in case of emergency.
Looks like the Economy Hotel doesn't have enough cash to maintain their sign. However, it looks like the HBO sales rep came by and ironed on fresh letters.
Cool moment: We pulled up at the stop light in front of the Air Force Base right at 5pm as there was a bugle call and the playing of the Star Spangled Banner.
Driving through the streets of Pensacola, we randomly drive by a Crossfit class on the sidewalk. Coincidence? Perhaps not. We honked and waved.
Strange trees along the coast.
